API Terms of Use

These terms govern use of the qmetrics API, whether accessed directly or through a marketplace such as RapidAPI. They are in addition to the qmetrics Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. Where you subscribe through a marketplace, that marketplace's own terms and billing also apply.

1. What the API provides

Search and lookup over a directory of public YouTube channels with 5,000 or more subscribers, together with publicly available statistics and, where the channel owner has published one, a contact address. Results are returned as JSON.

2. YouTube API Services

qmetrics uses the YouTube API Services. By using this API you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy. qmetrics is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google.

3. Plan limits

Search returns up to 50 channels per request with their public statistics but without contact addresses. Lookup returns one channel including its contact address, one request per channel. The request quota shown on your plan is therefore also the maximum number of contacts you may retrieve in a month. search/preview is free.

• Free: 30 requests per month, 60 per minute. The monthly figure is a soft limit; the marketplace bills any overage.
• Pro: 10,000 requests per month, 300 per minute.

Offsets are limited to 100,000. Requests beyond a rate limit return 429 with the limit and a retry interval.

4. Licence and restrictions

Subject to these terms you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use API results inside your own product, service or internal workflow, for the duration of your subscription. You may not:

• republish, resell, sublicense or redistribute results as a dataset, export, feed or file;
• use results to build, train or populate a competing directory, database or model;
• systematically retrieve results in order to reconstruct a substantial part of the database;
• share, resell or publish an API key, or allow a third party to call the API using your subscription;
• circumvent plan limits, rate limits, result caps or marketplace billing, including by calling the origin directly.

5. Contact data and your obligations

Contact addresses are collected from places the channel owner published them — the channel's About page and video descriptions. They are provided for legitimate business outreach only. You are solely responsible for determining that you have a lawful basis to contact any individual, and for complying with all applicable law, including the GDPR and UK GDPR, PECR, CAN-SPAM, CASL and equivalent regimes in your jurisdiction. In particular you must not use results to send unsolicited bulk email, and you must honour opt-out requests you receive.

Where you use results to contact individuals, you act as an independent controller of that data and are responsible for your own notices, records and lawful basis.

6. Removal requests

A channel owner may ask for their channel and any associated contact details to be removed, through the contact page. Requests are actioned within 30 days and removed channels are suppressed from future collection. If a record is removed after you have retrieved it, you must delete your copy on request.

7. Accuracy and availability

Figures come from public sources and are refreshed on a rolling cycle, so they lag the live values; subscriber and view counts are stored as YouTube displays them and are rounded. The API is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of accuracy, completeness, uninterrupted availability or fitness for a particular purpose. Endpoints, filters and limits may change; material changes will be reflected in the date above.

8. Suspension

Access may be suspended or terminated without refund for breach of these terms, for use that threatens the stability of the service, or where required by a third party whose terms qmetrics is itself bound by.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, qmetrics is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss arising from reliance on the data. Total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid for the API in that period.
